It operates some of the world’s most advanced facilities for designing, testing and manufacturing of Type 4 all-composite cylinders with modern and specialized production units in Germany, Norway, USA, Canada and Brazil. Compared to liquid fuels, natural gas is a cheap and eco-friendly alternative. New sources and extraction methods have increased the global supply, and are facilitating the widespread use. The end consumer can significantly reduce his fuel and energy costs with natural gas, and reduce the environmental impact at the same time. To enable the store and transport large amounts of natural gas, it is compressed into high-pressure vessels at pressures which typically range between 200 and 250 bar.
OrangeGas Germany GmbH is a subsidiary of OrangeGas B.V., which was founded in 2008 in the Netherlands and has focused on alternative fuels ever since. The company currently operates 73 CNG filling stations, making it the market leader in the Netherlands. OrangeGas has also been represented in Germany since 2017. OrangeGas is the market leader in the Netherlands with 73 CNG filling stations. In Germany, OrangeGas currently operates 35 CNG filling stations together with the new acquisition and continues to expand. The company plans to push the expansion of CNG mobility and to operate CNG filling stations economically at the same time. Over the next three years, the network in Germany is to be expanded to 150 CNG filling stations. For comparison: More than 900 CNG filling stations are currently available to environmentally-aware drivers throughout Germany. The company OrangeGas sells CNG with 10% biogas at all its petrol stations.
ONTRAS Gastransport GmbH
ONTRAS Gastransport GmbH is a supraregional transmission system operator in the European gas distribution system with registered office in Leipzig. ONTRAS operates the second longest gas grid for distributing natural gas with more than 7,000 kilometres of pipeline and around 450 interconnection points. The company combines the interests of transport customers, dealers, regional grid operators and generators of renewable gases. 22 biogas plants and two power-to-gas plants feeding in hydrogen are connected to the ONTRAS grid. The ONTRAS grid distributes up to 18 billion cubic metres of natural gas every year. More than one percent of this volume is biomethane. Six recovery systems permit biomethane feedback into the ONTRAS grid. ONTRAS uses the “going green” vision to develop its target of achieving a carbon-neutral gas supply by 2050. This enables more than 100 CNG automobiles in the ONTRAS vehicle fleet to eliminate 260 mt CO2 and NOx and fine dust compared with diesel vehicles.
